Ledisia kept screaming that she wanted to go home. I told myself again to be calm; this was the time for me to be a man!
Fortunately, the spiders were too engrossed in their work to see us.
I saw the steam rising behind the hill far in the distance and figured there must be somebody there. We're saved!
I sneaked through the spider lair with Ledisia but just as we turned a corner, we came face to face with a giant spider! I almost collapsed right there in fright!
Before the spider could react, I grabbed Ledisia and ran up the hill as fast as we could.
We ran as if our lives depended on it...
It's safe now... I gasped out.
We gazed at each other, flushing and smiling. Her apple-shaped face was so pretty that it made me want to hold her in my arms.
Why can't I move... I tried to step forward and hug her, but I couldn't move an inch.
We looked down
I tried to pull my feet from the jelly when I sensed someone behind me. It was the miner Goblin, and he was picking his nose as though he were mining for treasure.
I saw a small key hanging on his wrist. Nose Picker McGee noticed the box in Ledisia's hands and lunged for it.
I threw stones at the Goblin and screamed at him to let her go.
No! We need this box! he growled.
Ledisia, sobbing, managed to hit the Goblin with a capture net.
I panicked. I wanted to protect Ledisia, but I wasn't sure how.
