L40. Ancient Skull Kingdom





Belcar Plateau is a rich, green land where dinosaurs and yaks frolic in the fresh air. After spending a long time training here, I became curious about the desolate Plague Forest on the far side of the fort.



The creepy atmosphere of the Plague Forest made me shiver the moment I set foot within its borders.



Has the barren ground beneath my feet existed since the birth of Saphael?



I knelt down, picked up a handful of soil and contemplated it quietly.



Yab pointed towards the left of me. When I looked, I discovered a group of wild skeletons.

I was out of breath by the time I dealt with half of the skeletons, but luckily I survived the encounter.



Yab discovered several tombstones and wanted me to read it to her.



I carefully brushed the dust from the tombstones. These appeared to be very old. The inscriptions had become worn with time.



From what I could decipher, it mentioned how the skeletons' bravery in battle eventually allowed them to set up the Skeleton Kingdom in this corner of the land.



Yab suddenly said: This reminds me of some stories from the Sprite history books. They mentioned how the skeletons of the Plague Forest had been exiled because their bloodline wasn't pure enough for them to become a Necromancer's pet.



The skeletons considered this a terrible shame so they claimed to be brave warriors in life on their tombstones. They also set up a kingdom for exiled skeletons. So it's all a big fraud.
