The Eternal Mountains is another area infested with monsters. The only exception is the area around the Northeast Sandwind Observatory because this is the home of Mountain Lion Lizard and Whirlwild Lion Lizard.
Northern legends say that the many powerful and evil monsters once lived in the Eternal Mountains. Their presence made the Eternal Mountains too dangerous for people to settle. Fortunately, a group of good sprites tamed the Lion Lizard and defeated the evil monsters.

Before the Sprites left Eternal Mountains and returned to the Sprite King, they granted the Lion Lizards the ability to search for and destroy the demons.
In the Northland, people still believe that these two kinds of Lion Lizards can scare off ghosts and monsters. They believe the Lion Lizards have mysterious powers that prevents evil demons from coming close.
Therefore, many people put statues or paintings of Lion Lizards near their doors... as if an evil spirit would be fooled by mere artwork!
