Giant Water Spirits attacked the shipyard many times and destroyed all those new ships, injuring many workers.
It's happened more than once, but I'm unable to drive it back...I have to ask a favor of you again.
Other news tells of a Giant Scorpion showing up on that sand hill below Quill's Rock on Bone Reef Peninsula. Nearby creatures are gathering under its command to attack villages.

My usual work takes me around villages and cities to collect information on giant monsters, these couple of days I have to wait for other members of Demon Hunter Guild to bring information to me, so I can't leave here.
Then there's my lack of field experience to fight giant monsters. Researcher bites on lip. I just feel bad about doing nothing but waiting here for you to bring news.
